Rhodochrosite, from the mines of Argentina, is that country's national stone. Seldom found cut into drops, I was fortunate to find them. These are the "Strawberries and Cream" colors so prized, and so hard to find anymore. On a recent trip to Argentina, I found that the rhodochrosite offered in stores was faded and colorless unless terrifically expensive. I hung these sweet drops on twisted silver wires for a dramatic effect, and priced them so that you might have a little piece of Argentina.
