Chrome Diopside, often mistaken for Emerald, was initially found in Russia's Eastern Siberia in 1988. Diopside, a calcium and magnesium silicate, is found in igneous and metamorphic rocks. In the presence of chromium impurities, the stone is green, and where transparent, is cut as a gemstone.
